Heart of Ohio Fairgrounds:
A past, a present and a future community resource
As a child there was never a time that a promised trip to the Richland County Fairgrounds meant anything but having a wonderful time. The Fair, a special car show or flea market, any time my parents took me there it meant fun. Walking through the livestock exhibits with my Dad was always a treat. I remember the smell of Babcock’s Donuts wafting from a cart right outside the horse barn; a distinctive mixture of scents that stays with me even today. Most things have changed by leaps and bounds since that little girl went to the Fair, but the Fairgrounds and the events that take place there haven’t changed much at all. The best part is the technology-loving population still attends and celebrates the Fairgrounds just as they did during my childhood…
